So…That's How She Does It!

Princess Party

Princess Party

It has been awhile since I posted about a birthday party so I thought today would be a great time to post about Emma’s Princess Party. For her third birthday Emma knew she wanted a princess party.

I created this invite for her birthday.

Invite #1a

Then I got to work on some of the decor.  I created all of the loot bags, banner, and cut out decorations using my cricut machine, both disney princess cartridges and the princess party cartridge.

Leading up to the party I got lucky with some thrift store finds and was able to find this coach and castle backdrop both for $6. It made for a great photo backdrop.

At the time of her princess party, her favorite princess was Ariel.  So of course we had hired Ariel to come for a visit during the party which of course was so worth it.  Ariel read stories painted nails, had temporary tattoos, played dress up will all the kids and took pictures and helped cut the cake.  It was a little pricey but was so worth the expression on the kids faces.  Especially Emma’s; however I also have an awesome picture of my nephew with the widest dreamiest eyes staring at Ariel which of course is also priceless.

At the time Ella was about 3 months old so food wise I ordered pizza and didn’t go crazy.  I was trying to keep it simple or so I thought lol. Emma enjoys party planning as much as I do and she had a brilliant idea for her cake.  “Mommy I want a castle cake with all the princesses for my birthday, you can do that right???”  What was a mom supposed to do??? It took me 3 days but I made that castle cake lol.  At first I didn’t know how I was going to do it but thanks to google and pinterest I decided to go for it.  I used a Wilton Castle Cake set and that helped me out big time.

Day One –  I made the fondant and all the decorated fondant pieces

Day Two –  I made the Cake

Day Three –  I decorated and put together the cake

Here was the end result.  Emma loved it and now thinks I can make any kind of cake!!!

I also made these Thank you cards for everyone that came to the princess party.
thank you

To date this was one of my favorite parties that I have had for the kids.  Everyone in the family still talks about. I even found this cool castle bouncer online through Amazon for $50.  It has paid for itself several times over we have definitely got good use out of it.

I hope you enjoyed our Princess Party and maybe got an idea or two!!!
